The present building is from the 18th century, however there has been a structure here from as early as the 13th century.
The chapel has a very ornate interior and houses a statue of the Virgin and Child in polychrome wood from the 13th century. The chancel boasts a collection of gilded wood carvings dating to the 17th and 18th centuries.
It is now a place of pilgrimage for the Saint Vincent brotherhood of Visan.
Mass is often held in the open air here.
