Oppede-le-Vieux
A quiet little hilltop village perched on a rocky outcrop above the surrounding countryside
The old village of Oppede is filled with cobbled streets and dates back to around the 12th century.
It's a lot quieter than other similar villages, and you'll be able to explore without fighting the crowds. There are plenty of restored medieval houses and buildings which make great photo opportunities around every corner.
There is a car park below the village from where you can walk up along narrow cobbled streets, eventually winding your way into the village towards the ruins and church at the very top.
