Maison de la Truffe, Aups
The house of truffles (Maison de la Truffe) is dedicated to the 'Black Diamond'
The truffle has a long history here in Aups; for many years now they have been grown, harvested, retailed, shared and eaten.
It is set in the heart of the village of Aups in the Old Hospice Saint-Jacques (twelfth century), and aims to present truffles and truffle growing in all their varied dimensions. It comprises 4 distinct spaces:
- A shop area, selling products
- The taste of truffles, discovery of the truffle by the 5 senses
- An information space with activities around the truffle and Truffo-tourist information
- A museum area of presentation of truffles and truffle growing
Here you can learn abut the history, biology, geology, sociology, planting, growing, harvesting, distribution and marketing of truffles in this region.
When to come
This museum is open all year, but closed on Wednesday afternoon, Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Opening hours are 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00.
