Since Paul Ricard first commercialized Pastis in 1932, the infamous drink of the south of France has gone through it's ups and downs. Pernod, one of most well known Pastis producers, have seen a significant decline in the consumption of its Pastis 51 drink over the past 10 years and have launched a new Pastis Rosé to boost the market.

The Pastis Rosé is a lower alcohol blend of anise, red fruits and is destined to the female market.
Traditionally Pastis has not been as popular with women as men due to the strong anise flavour but this new drink is set to rebalance the Pastis drinkers amongst women and men.

This is not the first time Pernod have introduced a 'new' Pastis, first of all they introduced a Pastis 51 Light and then followed with a Pastis Lemon - both of which have since been taken off the market.

Pernod hope to sell 750,000 litres this year - will you be trying the Pastis Rosé out?
