Eurostar to Test Direct London to Avignon Train
Book a direct train to Provence for limited period
Following news of a budget TGV link to Avignon, Eurostar have announced they will be trialling a new direct London to Avignon high speed train link expanding on travel options to the Provence.
The new weekly Saturday service will operate two direct Avignon Eurostar trains and offers a journey time of little over 7 hours from London. Tickets will start from €115 one way and €310 return.
Eurostar will be testing the popularity of this service from the 4th of May through to the 29th of June and the from the 6th of July through to the 31st August 2013.
The 2 periods offer slightly different connections: between 4th May and 29th June 2013 (direct outbound to Avignon TGV with a simple change in Lille on your return journey) and between 6th July and 31st August (a direct non stop service in both directions to Avignon Centre).
It appears this direct service is already a success as a number of trains are already fully booked.
