Crestet
Tiny village with great views of the glorious Mont Ventoux
A sweet village sitting in the Dentelles de Montmirail hills just to the south of Vaison la Romaine. The medieval lanes are full of cobbled squares, winding steps, and ancient stone mansions.
Today, Crestet is an agricultural village with the surrounding area devoted to vineyards and fruit orchards, such as apricots, plums and cherries.
History & Culture in [locality]
A 14th century chateau (with origins in the 9th century) can be found in the village centre, but it's privately owned and no access is available.
The castles was used by bishops of Vaison la Romaine during times of conflict in the 12th century and the village developed around the needs of these residents.
The church, Saint Sauveur et Saint Sixte was built in the 11th century and redeveloped in the 18th century. It features Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance architecture and design.

The Stahly Foundation can be found in the upper part of the village, and exhibits modern sculptures and contemporary artworks both inside and out amongst the woodlands.
Things to do in [locality]
The best thing about the village really is the views of the surrounding hills and the dominant Mont Ventoux. There are plenty of trails in the countryside for walking, biking and horse riding. This really is an area where you will not be short of things to do, or things to look at!
